Hook them in

You only have one chance to make a first impression. Hiring a professional
book editor helps you put your best foot forward, right from the beginning.
While “editor” has a tendency to be bantered about willy-nilly, there are
actually several types.

I specialize in the following:

Structural editing

As structural editor, I’m all about the big picture.  It’s here I focus on the
manuscript’s structure—making sure it’s ordered correctly and flows as it
should.

Copy editing

As copy editor, I’m all about the details.  I read through your manuscript
multiple times, line by line, to ensure proper grammar, spelling, and
punctuation.  I’ll also check for holes and inconsistencies in regard to
content, characterization, and plot.

Book doctoring

As book doctor, I’m all about saving your manuscript from a slow and painful
death.  When it’s all you can do to get the basic content down on paper, I
come in to help you fill the gaps.  In doing so, I perform three functions:
ghostwriting, and content (copy) and structural editing.
